DESIGNER
FUTURE RETAIL
1st Year/ Semester 2
Client: Bakery
Location: The Bellhouse, Fitzalan Sq. Sheffield
THE BRIEF\ How might the highstreet of the future affect local communities + change the way we shop?
What if we remove enzymes from our bread, but put them to work in our bakeries?
Enzymes are capable of creating architectural materials which can regulate tempreture, harvest energy and provide uv protection.
In the future we can use these materials to design living skins for buildings, which are responsive, efficient + sustainable.
Changing the way we use “processing aids” could reduce overheads for business owners, and create the perfect environment for each stage of the bread making process.
